"This record was hand shaped and individually cut in real time using a 1940's Presto 75A recording lathe. It is a unique piece. It is not the same thing as a traditional pressed record. It was not made in a factory. It was hand carved from an 8ft sheet of polycarbonate plastic, shaped, sanded, waxed and cut in real time by one person. Because of the method employed to produce this record it may have "horns", a term used to describe raised plastic ridges on either side of the groove. If your record sounds inconsistent or absolutely horrible when you put it on, this is because the needle is riding on the horns between the grooves. Simply tap your needle with your finger to nudge it fully into the groove. All records are tested after cutting and will playback correctly on a properly weighted turntable. This record will not degrade after multiple plays. This record will however attract lint so be sure to clean the record and your needle often."
What you should take away from the above is that while this isn't going to sound exactly like a factory pressed vinyl record, it sounds damn good and FFR is a hero for doing these because they had to listen to this record AT LEAST one hundred times and we'd never wish that kind of torture upon anyone.
